A. James Barnes Scholarship
Established to honor A. James Barnes, SPEA's dean from 1988 to 2000, for his 12 years of leadership and loyal service. The scholarship was created to enable students to engage in nonpaying or low-paying internships in public service in either the public or non-profit sector.

- Minimum 3.7 cumulative GPA;
- Demonstrated leadership potential;
- Strong interest in a career in public service
