IU-SPEA in Central London in 2011

The School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) is pleased to announce a new summer 2009 overseas study program in central London. Students accepted into this prestigious program will attend classes taught by Dr. John Graham, SPEA's Dean, and Dr. Ragnar Lofstedt, Director of the Centre for Risk Management at King's College.


Details and opportunities of the program include:

  • Dates are June 29 to July 24
  • Two, 3 credit hour SPEA courses will be offered, titled “Managing Hazards in Europe in the United States I and II” (note: these courses are for management and policy students – they are not technical courses in hazard management)
  • Costs - including tuition, airfare, lodging, food and health care - will be approximately $4700 for Indiana residents and $6500 for non-residents
  • Partial scholarships will be available for eligible students
  • Explore the beautiful historic city of London and surrounding areas
  • Enjoy course-related excursions and cultural opportunities

Program admission requirements:
  • Admission is competitive
  • Minimum cumulative GPA for admission is 2.755
  • Preference will be give to applicants with 3.00 or above cumulative GPA
  • Application deadline is February 16, 2009
