Indiana University in Bloomington has partnered with Delft Technical University in the Netherlands to exchange students between SPEA’s MPA and MSES programs in Bloomington and the Technology, Policy and Management (TPM) program. Interested students are advised to plan early for this exchange program. MSES or MPA students usually study in Delft during their third semester (second fall semester).  Joint degree MPA/MSES students may find their fifth semester as most suitable for study in Delft.  MPA or MSES students who study a semester in Delft are expected to complete 12 IU credit hours and will be able to count these toward their respective degrees.  Consequently, the exchange program should not cause a delay in graduation. Students admitted to the SPEA Semester in Delft are eligible for a $2,000 SPEA Abroad scholarship.

Costs and Scholarships

Other than some insurance, administrative, and other miscellaneous fees, there are no additional tuition or program costs for the SPEA in Delft program.  Students simply pay their normal tuition at IU, and they are eligible to participate in the program for a semester or academic year.  Costs to students include airfare, dormitory costs, food, and incidentals. To cover these costs, SPEA currently gives a $2,000 SPEA Abroad
to eligible students participating in the SPEA in Delft program.
