Tuition and Costs

IU students pay their regular IU tuition for the semester or academic year in Paris. IU students studying at Sciences Po will not pay the IU Mandatory Fees for that semester or year spent in Paris. In addition to IU tuition, students will be responsible for other program and personal expenses, including:

  • Students under the age of 28 must pay France's national health insurance fee of €200 (approximately $280)
  • IU travel health insurance, currently $26 per month
  • Medical costs not covered by the above medical insurance programs
  • Books and materials required for courses
  • Sciences Po Welcome Program orientation fee, currently €240 (approximately $340)
  • All travel, transportation, lodging, meals, and personal expenses

Costs are given in Euros and exchange rates vary over time. In 2012, exchange rates varied from €1.00 = $1.30 to €1.00 = $1.45. We advise using the more conservative rate of €1.00 = $1.45 when estimating your expenses.
