The GIS Laboratory has five Hewlett-Packard (HP) 9000 technical workstations. These networked computers are served by a J2240 workstation with two PA-RISC 8200 240 MHz processors, 512 MB of RAM and 8 GB of Ultra SCSI disk drive. One workstation is an HP C240 with 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of Ultra SCSI disk, 12X CD-ROM and VISUALIZE-FX6 advanced performance 3D solid graphics. Four of the five networked workstations have HP C200 processors with 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of Ultra SCSI disk drive, 12X CD-ROM drives and VISUALIZE-FX4 graphics. An HP Disk Array with AutoRAID provides hierarchical data storage and management on twelve 9 GB disk modules with a total usable capacity of 71 GB. HP OpenView OmniBack II backup manager supports a DLT7000 Desktop Tape Drive for file backup, recovery, and archiving. The Laboratory also has a 4mm DDS 3 DAT tape drive and an 8mm DAT tape drive. Peripheral devices include a HP Color LaserJet 5M, a HP DeskJet 1200C/PS, a HP DesignJet 2500CP (A-E format), a VIDAR TruScan Spectra large document color scanner, an HP ScanJet II Color, and a Trimble Pathfinder GPS receiver. The GIS Laboratory has an HP KAYAK XU personal computer with a Pentium II 300 MHz CPU, Matrox Millenium II ultimate performance 2D graphics and a Yamaha CD-ROM recorder and an HP KAYAK XA personal computer with a Pentium II 300 MHz CPU and Cirrus Logic Laguna3D AGP graphics.
