No-Shows and Late Cancellation Policy
No-Show and Late Cancellation Policy
The no-show policy is designed to ensure that students meet the recruitment commitments they make through SPEA’s recruiting software, SPEACareers.com.
You are Considered a No-Show if You:
- Fail to show up for a scheduled interview with an employer.
No-Show Consequences:
- All no-shows are required to write a letter of apology to the employer, and a copy sent to the Office of Career Services within 48 hours of the missed interview.
- After a no-show, a student is suspended from interviewing. Any interviews you may have scheduled will be put on hold until a letter of apology is written.
- If you fail to bring us the apology letter or if you violate the no-show policy a second time your SPEACareers.com account will be deactivated and your recruiting privileges will be revoked.
You are Considered a Late Cancellation if You:
- Cancel a scheduled interview less than 24 hours before the interview.
- While appreciated, a late cancellation is not sufficient time for another candidate to be identified and prepare for the interview.
Late Cancellation Consequences:
- You are required to write a letter of apology to the employer, and a copy sent to the Office of Career Services within 48 hours of the missed interview.
- A record of late cancellations will be kept. A pattern of late cancellations may affect your eligibility for further interview privileges. Reactivating your privileges will be at the discretion of the Director of Career Services.
These policies are in place to protect you, the student. Not only does this reflect poorly on you to the employer, but this also reflects poorly on our office and the school. We will be somewhat understanding in extreme situations, but we ask you to be responsible and avoid late cancellations and no-shows all together.
