Edwardo L. Rhodes
Professor

Ph.D., Carnegie Mellon University, 1978

Professor Rhodes' fields of interest and specialization include public policy analysis, particularly public sector applications of management science in the evaluation and assessment of the efficiency or organization performance of public activities. These activities include the areas of environmental and natural resource policy implementation and the area of university performance. His most recent research activities has focused on the emerging issue of environmental justice or equity as it applies to the economic and social impacts of environmental activities. In this research, as in previous work in efficiency evaluation, Professor Rhodes applies a relatively new management science estimation and evaluation methodology called data envelopment analysis (DEA), which he helped develop, to assess variations in relative environmental risk and exposure across demographic classifications within a community or region.

He teaches a variety of courses in operations research and management science, public sector micro-economics, natural resource economics and management, and governmental budgeting and public finance. He has published articles in journals such as M anagement Science, The European Journal of Operational Research Journal of Economic Education, Applications of Management Science, and various other edited volumes and proceedings.
