SPEA pioneered the blending of environmental science and public policy as
naturally complementary fields of study, recognizing that both focus on
managing relationships between people and their environments.

News & World Report has ranked SPEA Bloomington second (tied with Harvard University)
in the nation among the best graduate public affairs programs (environmental
