May 2005 Graduation
We celebrated the transition from student to alum at the beginning
of May. This year SPEA hosted three separate ceremonies to celebrate
the accomplishments of our students graduating with undergraduate,
master’s, and Ph.D. degrees.
- 28
students were awarded BS in Public Affairs degrees with a major
in Environmental Management
- 9
students were awarded BS in Environmental Science degrees
- 35
students were awarded MS in Environmental Science degrees; 14 of
these students also received an MPA, and 1 of these MSES students
also received a JD.
- 21
students were awarded MPA degrees with concentrations in Environmental
Policy and Natural Resources Management.
- 5
students received Ph.D. in Environmental Science degrees. The diversity
of their thesis topics, along with the list of faculty publications
and presentations above, begin to illustrate the wide range of research
in Environmental Science and Policy underway at SPEA:
- Aaron
J. Coby—“Microbial Fe- (HYDR) Oxide Reduction:
Effects on Zn Speciation and Interactions with Nitrate Reduction”

E. Davis—“The Atmospheric Chemistry of
Acetone and alpha- and beta-Pinene”
