Auditory Research Laboratory
The
primary research facility under Dr. Humes' direction is the Audiology
Research Laboratory (ARL). This facility is equipped with three computers,
state-of-the-art electronic equipment, and a large double-walled soundbooth
for the conduct of auditory research. In addition, he has assisted in
the development and maintenance of several shared research facilities
in the Department, especially the Group Experimental Listening (GEL)
Laboratory. The GEL Lab is capable of evaluating the performance of
up to 12 listeners simultaneously on a variety of auditory tasks.
