Indiana University was established in 1820.  It is world known for its excellence in research and the arts. Many of its programs are among the top ten in the nation, including Speech and Hearing Sciences. During the summers, IU offers a variety of programs for high school and college bound students, and college students from other institutions. In addition, there are a variety of art programs offered to the public, including the Summer Music Festival hosted by the world renowned Music School. Thus, during summers, although more relaxed, IU hosts visitors from the state of Indiana, the United States, and the world. There is always something to do!
