Individual oversees budget and full-time/part-time employees. Oversee the operation of
community centers, parks, and cultural affairs/special events.
Possess strong leadership skills; the ability to become apart of the executive
management team; and excellent presentation and staff management skills. Development of
new recreational facilities and programs, the ability to manage and promote art and
cultural affairs and activities, as well as league sports. Ability to manage a major
capital improvement program (CPI), including site acquisition, and design of a
multi-sports facility.
Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Leisure Services, or related field from an accredited
university. Master's degree in Public Administration or related filed preferred. Five
years or progressive experience in developing and implementing community-wide leisure
service programs. Two years experience at the Director or Assistant Director level in a
large city or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
