Direct, plan, supervise and evaluate all sport and operational activities involved with
the State Games.
Select and train Sport Commissioners to conduct competition of each sport. Develop
training session for all Sport Commissioners. Create annual budget format and financial
allocations. Develop competition format, rules and regulations, and policies and
procedures for each sport. Assess supplies and equipment needs for each sport. Schedule
and conduct venue inspections of all sporting venues. Direct sport petitioning process for
potential inclusion of new sports into the State games. Supervise scheduling of over 600
volunteers,and vendor bids.
Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sport Marketing, Sport Management or related
field. Master's preferred. Three to five years leadership experience in planning,
organizing, and staging sporting events. Demonstrate ability to recruit, supervise, and
coordinate large volunteer projects as well as previous experience in departmental
planning (financial and personnel).
