About

The Speech Research Laboratory (SRL) is under the direction of Professor David B. Pisoni. Dr. Pisoni is one of the leading figures in the field of speech perception and spoken language processing. Under his direction for more than thirty years, the SRL has developed a broad research program on a range of problems dealing with speech perception, spoken word recognition, language comprehension and perceptual development.

The SRL has ongoing collaborations with Indiana University’s Speech & Hearing Sciences Department, Linguistics Department, Cognitive Science Program and Neuroscience Program. As well as, Indiana University School of Medicine’s DeVault Otologic Research Laboratory and Riley Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic.

Our long-term goal is to provide broad interdisciplinary research training in the Communication Sciences and Disorders and to encourage novel and creative approaches to basic and clinical research problems in Speech, Hearing and Sensory Communication.
