Programs

Mid America Prosperity and Security (MAPS) steering group, which was formed in Indiana last Fall to map opportunities for innovative economic development based on principles of sustainability. MAPS is in the very early stages of planning regional initiatives in three areas: Walkable Communities, Regenerative Agriculture, and Resource Productivity.

"Mapping A Journey Toward Prosperity and Security”

Thursday, March 27

  • Keynote Lecture (7:00 p.m.)Dr. David Orr, Paul Sears Distinguished Professor of Environmental Studies and Senior adviser to the President of Oberlin College, will give a public presentation on The Oberlin Project on March 27 at 7 pm in The Kelley School of Business Hodge Hall, Room BU219.

Friday, March 28

  • Breakfast with the Sustainability Community of Practice (8:00 a.m.): Dr. David Orr will meet with sustainability faculty to discuss recent developments in sustainability education and his experience supporting environmental literacy. To attend, email sustain@indiana.edu
  • Mid-America Prosperity and Security Steering Committee Meeting (9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.): MAPS is in the early stages of planning regional initiatives in three areas: Walkable Communities, Regenerative Agriculture, and Resource Productivity. Mark Mykleby, the former Joint Chiefs strategist who is catalyzing the formation of these economic development clusters across the country, will also be here for the MAPS steering group meeting, which will take place on Friday, March 28, in the Kelley School of Business Godfrey Graduate Education Center, Room 1040.
