Troy
Guthrie, MSD Public Relations Coordinator and Leadership Team member
Troy Guthrie is the MSD of Decatur Township's Public Relations
Coordinator. He has been in that position since 2000 and he is
responsible for public relations, media relations and some marketing
activities for the school corporation, its seven individual schools'
students and staff members. His duties include establishing
relationships with media representatives and community members to
better
spotlight the corporation's accomplishments and continuous efforts
at
providing the best education possible.
Prior to arriving with the MSD of Decatur Township, Troy worked
in the
newspaper industry, covering a wealth of topics over that 11-year
period. He formed some familiarity with important entities such
as
government, the Indianapolis International Airport and tax rates
and
budgets. Aside from those integral components of life, he also produced
several memorable feature stories and photos dealing with people
and
events.
Troy
earned his bachelor of science in communication from Indiana State
University in 1989.
