AECT 2005, Orlando, FL - Presidential Session
Charles Reigeluth, Jerry Kemp, Trey Martindale, and a number of past presidents of AECT presented a session at AECT on systemic change. The session was described in the AECT presentations list in this manner:
'President's Perspectives on the Direct Role of AECT for Improving American Education'
Description: Continuing shortcomings in American education are well documented. Common solutions, including the NCLB federal program provide disconnected, ineffective results. Educators need help to transform their system to a more effective learner-centered paradigm of education for the Information era. Past Presidents of AECT share their perspectives about the roles that AECT and its members can play in the systemic change process for school leadership and teaching/learning functions in conjunction with a systematic method of instructional planning for effectively accomplishing educational goals for all students.
