IU T'ai Chi Ch'uan: About the Instructor Charles Pearce
A senior student of internationally recognized T'ai Chi Ch'uan Grandmaster Chen, Instructor Pearce has achieved the highest level of certification and has over twenty years of teaching experience in T'ai Chi Ch'uan. His training includes several Karate styles, Hapkido and instruction in T'ai Chi Ch'uan from several recognized experts. Influential teachers include Peter Knipe, Peter Ralston, G. Bank, D. Burns and Master Chen's classmates Grandmater T.T. Liang, Grandmaster Benjamin Lo, and Dr Ping-Siang Tao. He has studied T'ai Chi Ch'aun with Grandmaster Chen since 1979 and T'ui Shou with Dr. Tao since 1989. He is also a member of the Board of Examiners for the United States Hapkido Federation and President of New School T'ai Chi Ch'uan Association, and head-Instructor for the IU T'ai Chi Ch'uan Club. Currently, Instructor Pearce teaches T'ai Chi Ch'uan for the Department of Kinesiology at Indiana University-Bloomington and conducts seminars and workshops throughout the United States.
