Volunteer News
What can you do?
The Twenty-first Century Scholars Program provides a good deal of support to 7th-12th grade students in their academic endeavors. You can be a part of this by becoming a volunteer. Opportunities are as follows:
Tutors
Assist with tutoring Scholars at weekly tutoring sessions in your area.
Mentors
- Keep in contact with a small number of Scholars and their parents
- Encourage Scholars to follow the Scholars Pledge
- Remind Scholars of events, paperwork due dates, etc.
- Be a reliable resource for information and encouragement
Callers
Assist staff members in calling Scholars and parents to invite them to or remind them of events.
Chaperones
Accompany and assist staff members with activities such as college visits, field trips, and camps.
Office Help
Assist staff members with various office-related tasks, especially newsletter mailings.
Translators
Assist staff members at various events or activities where attendees primarily speak Spanish.
