Biography
In her work with CIC, Katie Kearns helps faculty and associate instructors design and implement courses that are engaging to students and that promote long-term learning. Katie also supports the development of AI pedagogy courses across campus and conducts workshops on graduate student professional development. As a graduate student, Katie received two awards for her instruction of undergraduates and was a teaching assistant mentor for her college. Before coming to IU, she taught freshman biology and mentored graduate student teaching in the Biology Department at Boston University for five years. Katie enjoys traveling to foreign countries and outdoor activities like hiking and camping, and she plays the clarinet and piano.
