Facilities | ICR - Institute for Communication Research

The Institute for Communication Research (ICR) is a research facility located on the east side of the IU campus. Dr. Dolf Zillmann (retired) established the Institute for Communication Research and it was officially approved by Indiana University in 1974. One of the goals was to have the institute integrate numerous sub-disciplines of communication and be the center for communication studies.

In 1995 Dr. Annie Lang became the director of the ICR and re-launched the ICR Lab, with an emphasis in psychophysiological approach to media studies. In 2004, the ICR welcomed a new director, Dr. Rob Potter. With a new and expanded location, the ICR Lab is even more active than ever.
