T436 Critical Production Review Essay
(4-5 pages - 30 points) Due by Monday, December 10th!
(You can email an uncompressed Word Doc or PDF to me.)
Select one or two shows you directed. (If you didn't direct, select
a show you produced or served as DP on.) After showing the finished project
to at least 8 people and getting their feedback, write a critical analysis
of the program. Describe the process. What was easy or challenging?
Who was involved in your production? How did they contribute or detract
from the process or project? Consider what people said about your project
and your own thoughts. Address its strengths and shortcomings. Consider
the story- was it clear and well told? Was the camerwork, lighting and
editing of professional quality. Was the talent beleivable and appropriately
chosen? What would you do differently next time? What did you like or
what were you not satisifed with?
Please be sure to address all of the areas mentioned above. Some of
the participation points will be alloted based on these essays. Also
be sure to include both positive and negative comments from 8 people.
These can be unedited and attached as an addendum to your essay.
Alternate Exercise (4-5 pages)
Critique all of the shows the
class produced touching on the areas described above. (No additional/attached
comments are necessary.)
