Faculty. B.A., DePauw University, 1997 (Psychology);
M.A. and Ph.D., University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign,
2006 (Speech Communication). Research interests revolve
around media consumption and effects, particularly with regard
to media violence. Current projects include a meta-analysis
on attraction to violence and a set of experiments on the
enjoyment of television violence among both children and
adults. Teaching interests encompass a wide variety of media-related
topics, including race and media, children and media, and
the psychology of media entertainment.
