Sample Program: MA in Telecommunications
Subject of Study: Media Economics.
MA students take courses and write a thesis in preparation for advanced
study in Telecommunications. Typical topics include Media Processes and
Effects, Media Psychology, Media and Sexuality, Communications and Politics,
Telecommunications Policy and Law, Children and Media, Media Economics,
and other academic research topics. The best guide to the MA work available
in the department is to browse recent academic publications by the faculty.
The following sample program illustrates the courses one would take to
get an MA with a focus in Media Economics. This program is just an example;
all MA students are able to design their own Program of Study, with different
courses and different areas of emphasis, under the guidance of the student's
faculty advisors.
