Sample Program: PhD in Mass Communications
Subject of Study: Media Psychology.
PhD students work closely with faculty mentors to conduct advanced research
on such topics as Media Processes and Effects, Media Psychology, Media
and Sexuality, Communications and Politics, Telecommunications Policy
and Law, Children and Media, and other academic research topics involving
communications, the individual, and society. The best guide to the PhD
work available in the department is to browse recent academic publications
by the faculty. The following sample program illustrates the courses
one would take to get a PhD with a specialization in Media Psychology.
This program is just an example; all PhD students are able to design
their own Program of Study, with different courses and different areas
of emphasis, under the guidance of the student's faculty advisors.
