Adjunct Lecturer, Michael Chabin, joined IU in 2011. He has a BS in Computer Science from UC Santa Cruz, and more than 20 years experience developing games and interactive animations for clients including the National Air and Space Museum, the American Bankers Association, the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, and Boston University's College of Education. Michael also developed the Alumni/Donor tracking and accounting system at UC Santa Cruz, a sea-going data acquisition system for the Institute for Geophysics at the University of Hawaii, and system-level design of automated fingerprint matching systems for SAGEM MORPHO, in Fontainebleau, France. Current interests include creating interactive games for teaching and assessment and as targeted research tools and developing animation, especially 3D animation into book length interactive narratives. He has a long term interest in writing fiction and math/astronomy oriented non fiction, especially for children, some of which has appeared in Astronomy Magazine, Mercury, The Universe in the Classroom, and Project STARS under contract with Science Weekly.
