My broad research interest involves the media portrayal of the thin-ideal as well as other beauty and body standards. My work has studied these portrayals within the context of fashion media and reality-based media. In the future I hope to expand my program of research to include health outcomes in relation to these portrayals (e.g. anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and obesity).

I have industry experience working with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bloomington as well as Discovery Communications.

Other interests of mine include: reading, traveling, window-shopping, and telling corny jokes.
