Biography:
As an alumnus and professional staff member of IU; I'm taking the scenic route through the MIME program and I haven’t looked back yet. In addition to grad school, I am balancing work with the Advanced Visualization Lab, time with my wife and two children, and a photography business on the side. My professional experience and personal tastes tend toward virtual environments, storytelling, photography, photorealistic modeling, 3D printing, and stereoscopic videography. I enjoy collaborating across disciplines and forging bonds among creative people and groups.
Participating in the MIME program at IU has opened many doors for me and I find myself working on a variety of projects and planning even more projects for down the road.
* I'm serving as a technical coordinator for the Londontown project by Lee Sheldon
** http://www.londontownworld.com/
* I've created a short technical study/documentary of student activities on campus, in 3D
** With help and advice from Ron Osgood I'm developing techniques and documentation to help people create stereoscopic video projects that look good and enhance the story
* I'm working on developing ways for artists to show their art works in a virtual environment that reflects a real world environment; a symbiosis of tangibles and virtuals
** Virtual creations can be printed out with IU's rapid prototyping machine
*** http://www.avl.iu.edu/?facilities/3Dprinting
** Tangible creations can be scanned in as 3D models
*** http://www.avl.iu.edu/?facilities/3Dscanning
Overall, my work with the Advanced Visualization Lab is helping me to develop projects with Telecom people and the AVL to facilitate an interesting synergy of creativity.
