Biography:
Jim’s background is in psychology and anthropology (BA, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill,’04). After a brief period assisting in research at Syracuse University and Duke University, he joined the IU Telecom Department in Fall 2006, where he has since been interested in applying evolutionary psychology to video game cognition and virtual world gameplay. In addition to serving on the Arden Project as part of the Synthetic Worlds Initiative, Jim has worked extensively with Nourish International, a nationwide university-based non-profit (www.nourishinternational.org).

Scholarly Interests:
Games as tools of information conveyance & narrative; the evolutionary basis of modern media use.
