As a doctoral student I am interested in investigating how the new media realm is influencing our society. I am particularly interested in researching how marginalized people are mediating their stigma through social media.

My interest in this field of research dates back to my years of M.A. studies. I had the opportunity to be exposed to a full range of media studies, starting from the media studies program at the University of Amsterdam, Holland, through practical media courses at San Francisco State University during an exchange program.

My M.A. thesis work focused on what was a new and unexplored area in 2000- ethical dilemmas faced by online journalists. Between 2000-2010 I worked in the media industry in Holland and Israel as an Internet editor, a weekly reporter, and a public relations officer.
