I am currently a master's student at Indiana University. Before coming to IU, I was trained as a professional journalist in Fudan University, China. While that program provided me first-hand experience and international perspectives on the Chinese media industry, I wanted to understand the underlying mechanisms of media effects. IU enables me to understand the black box in media effects, i.e., how human brain interacts media. Within this domain, I am interested in cognitive and emotional processing of mediated health messages. Specifically, I am interested in how people respond to messages regarding health-related stress, and how individual differences influence information processing and affect people's attitudes and behaviors. I have presented papers regarding health topics such as climate change and audience's response towards cancer-knowledge based videos at ICA and AEJMC.
