Biography:
Mary LaVenture is from Colby, Wisconsin (yes, like the cheese) and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a BFA in photography. After graduation she moved to Denver, Colorado and assisted in the production of two independent documentary films. In addition, she learned how to snowboard (yay, mountains) and spent part of her time creating and coordinating art programs for the elderly. After four years in Colorado she moved to Bloomington this past year to start grad school.

During her first year at Indiana, Mary held an assistantship at the Indiana University Art Museum working in marketing, development, and special events. She is very excited to join the M.S. program and has been thrilled with the individuals she has met during her transition. She is interested in learning more about film production and administration, as well as, the game industry in order to learn new ways to incorporate both into museum exhibits and education.

Mary enjoys volleyball (let me know if you play!), roller skating (let me know if you wanna go!), and knitting (let me know if you wanna learn!) She also changes her hair color at a frequency comparable to the length of celebrity marriages (I'm not offended if you don't remember me because of this)

Mary is currently assisting on a number of projects including as Art Lead for Londontown, a virtual world MMO; a documentary and website devoted to the stories of Vietman; and a zombie flick.
