I am pursuing a Master of Science Degree in Design & Production. I received my BA in Mass Communications and Theatre Arts from Ouachita Baptist University in 2006. I also had the privilege of attending Reading University in England for a semester through a study abroad program. Since graduating, I have worked in AV, video production, and education. My most recent position has been as the Video and Photo Manager for a non-profit organization called Pine Cove which serves 25,000 campers every summer in Texas and throughout the South.
Since my creative background developed in-house at a non-profit organization, I have become a jack of all trades dabbling in video, audio, photo, web ux, print design, and motion design. By far, my favorite medium is motion design. I believe this field is becoming more important to our society as video screens become more deeply embedded in our daily routine. I love how it encourages people to consume information more efficiently, and would love to study it further.
I also love interacting with students. At Pine Cove, I managed a team of 50 college interns each summer. It was a blast! Also, I have taught Film and Theatre part-time at a small academy. Getting high school students to talk in specifics about why they did or did not like something was a great chore but very rewarding. In fact, the main purpose of my continued education is to enhance my teaching ability and continue to learn how to lead and collaborate with excellence.
My hobbies include traveling, eating, and gaming. I love learning about, responding to, and discussing films. And someday, I hope to be a beer connoisseur.
