As a doctoral student, I am interested in sex in the media, especially the role and effects of sexual information and portrayals in media. I am currently working very closely with Dr. Paul in developing what will be the largest content analysis of Internet pornographic content undertaken. It is very funny to do such research as a student who comes from China, a nation where pornography is totally illegal. Another of my research interest is about depiction of homosexuality in the media. Particularly, I am interested in how media influence heterosexual people’s perception and attitudes towards homosexuals.

I received my B.A. in broadcasting and television writing and directing in Hunan University in China. During my college years, I focused on documentary films and finished some award-winning documentaries.
