Advanced Production Course Applications

Indiana University Department of Telecommunications offers introductory, intermediate, and advanced production courses. Students pursuing the Design and Production track should take T206 followed by T283 as early as possible, as they are the prerequisites for nearly all of the advanced production classes. (T284 is a possible alternative to T283 for some classes.) For those attempting to register or applying to advanced classes, please note that all required prerequisites must be met, and that admittance is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Seniors and those registering early are given first choice.

Students wishing to take 300-level production classes can register at their appointed time through IU's registration system. Students wishing to take advanced 400-level production classes must fill out an application in order to gain admittance. They will be notified of their admittance, and then can register at their apoointed time using IU's registration system.

For a complete list of design and production courses visit our Design & Production Track page.

The deadline for fall 2008 400-level applications was 5:00 PM, Wednesday March 26! However, you can still submit a late production application if you missed the deadline.

400-level Late Production Application Notes & Instructions:

  1. Carefully read these instructions and the course info pages before completing your application.
  2. You must provide accurate information. Intentionally providing incorrect information will result in your application being rejected and is a possible violation of the Student Code of Ethics.
  3. Only submit one 400-level application. Multiple applications will be discarded! However, you may be approved for two classes, which would be your first and second choices.
  4. Admission to advanced production courses is competitive. Not every applicant can be assured of admission. Acceptance to these courses is based on :
    • Submission of the completed application before the deadline.
    • Grade of "B" or better in other production courses.
    • A positive recommendation from other production faculty and lab instructors.
  5. Once you are authorized to register for a class, you must do so during your normal registration period. If you don't register during this time, your seat may be given to another student.
  6. You can check your authorizations through the on-line registration system.
