Costuming The Cherry Orchard

picture of costume designer Dixon ReynoldsDixon Reynolds is a third-year M.F.A. student in Costume Design, from Candor, North Carolina. After taking undergraduate coursework at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Dixon received his B.F.A in Costume Design from the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts. While Dixon worked on his B.F.A., he designed productions of Vanities, Translations, Flowers and Freckle Cream, as well as The Other Shore. After receiving his B.F.A., Dixon designed costumes for Lysistrata at Wake Forest University, in addition to I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Wit, You Can’t Take it With You, and “Art” for the Florida Repertory Theatre. In 2002 Dixon joined the M.F.A. Costume Design program at IU. For IU, Dixon has designed costumes for Playing the Bones and Romeo and Juliet. Dixon has also designed costumes for Steel Magnolias and Picasso at the Lapin Agile for the Brown County Playhouse and the Playmakers Repertory Company. He has also worked with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, the Winston-Salem Journal, Roanoke Festival Park, Doomsday Man Production, and CBS Productions. Dixon was the Costume Coordinator for Ragtime, with the Music Theatre of Wichita, designer forTCCP at the American Dance Festival, and designer for Crumbs from the Table of Joy at Triad Stage. The Cherry Orchard is Dixon's M.F.A. thesis production.
