Welcome Letter - Undergraduate Handbook

Dear Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance Student:

On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, we welcome you to the Department. We have a long legacy of exceptional students who have graced our stages, learned in our classrooms, and worked in our design studios.

As a student of theatre and drama you are joining an accomplished team of artists and scholars who are committed to creating, researching, and teaching exciting theatre and drama. The network of active IU graduates in professional and academic theatre is extensive, and the opportunity to be part of that network starts now during your time as a member of the Department. To learn more about out faculty and staff, see here.

This handbook, intended for the new and returning student, serves as a resource for you. It has information that we feel will help you negotiate some of the day to day challenges of the Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance Department whether you are a major, minor, Individualized Major Program participant, or just a curious student taking classes in the Department.

We encourage you to become involved in the many activities of the Department; this is an essential way to challenge yourself and discover new insights as part of your undergraduate education and experience.

We all look forward to seeing you and working with you in the classroom and studio, and onstage.
