Study at a Leading Theatre Program
As one of the premiere professional
training schools in the United States,
the IU Department of Theatre and
Drama has helped prepare young artists
and scholars for successful careers
in theatre for more than 75 years.
Graduates of the department work
professionally around the nation as
accomplished directors, actors, playwrights,
designers, and technicians in
theatre, film, and television. The Department's
distinguished performance and
design faculty are dynamic teachers
who regularly work in both academic
and professional settings.
The beautiful
Indiana University-Bloomington
campus, located one hour south of
Indianapolis, is renowned for its artist training programs, splendid performance
facilities, and exciting cultural
climate. A highlight of this artistic
community is the Lee Norvelle Theatre
and Drama Center. This state-of-the art
facility holds production, classroom, and performance spaces used by the
Department of Theatre and Drama,
which shares the building with the
Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center.
Set between the Musical Arts Center
and the School of Fine Arts, the Lee
Norvelle Center is
truly a magnet of culture and artistic
pursuit on Bloomington's culturally rich
campus.
