Alan joined the Department of Theatre and Drama in 2011 as an Office Assistant after spending several years as a fiscal officer in the Office of the Vice President and Chief FInancial Officer of the Indiana University.

A former member of United Scenic Artists, Local 829, Alan has worked in theatre for many years as a professional scenic designer. Among his favorite credits is the scenic design for the world premiere of SUDS in San Diego that he followed to its off-Broadway premiere and subsequent productions across the United States and Canada. Other memorable theatre credits were being the Associate Scenic Designer for the world premiere of Into the Woods at The Old Globe Theatre, in San Diego.

Alan was Art Director on over 300 half-hour situation comedies, game shows, and specials on network television, including “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” “In the House,” “Saved by the Bell – The New Class,” “Celebrity Poker Showdown,” and “George Burns’ 95th Birthday Celebration.” Alan received a Primetime Emmy Nomination for his design for “The Soul Train Music Awards.” He was also the Art Director on the independent film Fits and Starts.
