Cast

Kevin Anderson (Sebastian) is a senior majoring in Theatre and Drama. In the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center he has appeared as Officer Lockstock in Urinetown: The Musical, Major Ross and Ketch Freeman in Our Country's Good, Malcolm in Macbeth, Mrs. Taylor in Bat Boy, and as a member of the ensemble in The Laramie Project. Other Bloomington-area credits include a Bystander in Assassins (University Players), Chorus in Guys and Dolls (Union Board), and Norman in The Boys Next Door, Mike in The Memory of Water, and Nate in Paul Shoulberg's Privilege (Independent Student Projects). Kevin is from Weston, Connecticut.

Photo of Nick Arapoglou and Allison MoodyNick Arapoglou (Orsino) is a senior majoring in Theatre and Drama. He returns to the Ruth N. Halls Theatre after having played Reverend John Hale in The Crucible earlier this season. Other Norvelle Center credits include, Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet, Ezra Chater in Arcadia, Menteith in Macbeth, Reverend Phelps in The Laramie Project, Sheriff Reynolds in Batboy: The Musical, and as a guard in Bacchai. Nick appeared in the 2006 Brown County Playhouse hit, The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (abridged). Nick has also appeared as Lucien in The Boys Next Door, Iago/Romeo in Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet), Bassianus in Titus Andronicus, and Jamie in Credeaux Canvas (Independent Student Projects). Nick is a recipient of an IU Theatre and Drama Merit Award. He hails from Atlanta, Georgia.

Matthew Buffalo (Andrew Aguecheek) is a first year M.F.A. student in Acting. He made his debut in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center as Alex in last semester's production of Reel. He has appeared in the national touring companies of Fosse and Spirit of the Dance. Other favorite productions include Satan in The Promise, Jimmy in Celebrate America, and Judah in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for Mansion American Theatre. Matt is from Lonoke, Arkansas.

Lindsey Charles (Maria) is a senior majoring in Theatre and Drama with a minor in Studio Art. Lindsey last appeared in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center as Tituba in The Crucible, and as Reverend Hightower/Bud in Batboy: the Musical. Lindsey has also appeared as Hawker/Chorus in Tommy and Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show for University Players. With the Bloomington Playwrights Project she appeared as Dixie in Chicks With Dicks and Stephanie in Holy Spirit on Grand Avenue; and the Collins LLC as Colin Jorgensen in The OZ Variations, Violet Beauregard in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Terry in Extremeties. Lindsey is from Terre Haute, Indiana.

Photo of Joanne Dubach as FesteJoanne Dubach (Feste) is a senior majoring in Theatre and Drama. She last appeared on in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center as Little Sally in Urinetown: the Musical. Elsewhere in Bloomington, Joanne has performed in numerous roles at the Bloomington Playwrights Project. She has played Linda in Flaws, Alice in The Housewives of Manheim, Kitten in Chicks with Dicks and Miranda in Mr. Postman. Joanne is from Chesterton, Indiana.

Megan Dwyer (Ensemble) is a freshman majoring in Theatre Education. This is Megan's debut appearance in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center. She is from Glen Ellyn, Illinois .

Jeff Grafton (Toby) is a second year M.F.A. student in Acting who received his B.S. from Illinois State University. He has appeared at the Norvelle Center as Goldberg in The Birthday Party, Bernard Nightingale in Arcadia and Gus in Honour. In 2006 he appeared as Captain Bluntschli in the Brown County Playhouse production of Arms and the Man. His Chicago credits include Downsize (Steppenwolf Theatre Garage), King Lear (Illinois Shakespeare Festival), Porcelain (Trap Door - Joseph Jefferson Citation), All My Sons (Illinois Theatre Center) and Capitalism 101 (Chicago Dramatists). He also appears in the film Sunset Town. He is from St. John, Indiana.

Stephanie Haberman (Ensemble) is a freshman majoring in Theatre and Drama. This is Stephanie's debut appearance in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center. She is from Woodbury, New York.

Joanna Jacobs (Valentine) is a senior majoring in Theatre and Drama and Broadcast Journalism. This is Joanna's debut appearance in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center. She was last seen as Erzulie in the Union Board production of Once on this Island. Other credits include Cordelia in King Lear at the British American Drama Academy in London and Laurey in Oklahoma! and Reggie Flutey in The Laramie Project at the Sheely Center for Performing Arts. Joanna is from Northbrook, Illinois.

Phil Kasper (Sea Captain/ 2 nd Officer) is a continuing studies student. Previously in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center Phil appeared as Phipps in Last Days of the High Flier. Phil is from Wooster, Ohio.

Jamaal McCray (Sailor/Priest) is a junior majoring in Theatre and Drama. Jamaal last appeared in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center as a Soldier in Macbeth and Herrick in The Crucible. Jamaal has also appeared as Cliff in Can I Take You Out Tonight, Baby? and the Poet in Interpretation of “Puerto Rican Obituaries” for Black Curtain. He was an assistant stage manager for IceBreaker at the Phoenix Theatre. Jamaal is from Indianapolis, Indiana.

Photo of Nick Arapoglou and Allison MoodyAllison Moody (Viola) is a second year M.F.A. student in Acting who received her B.F.A. from Drake University. She has appeared in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center as Maura in Reel, Meg in The Birthday Party, Liz Morden in Our Country's Good and Dr. Charlotte in Falsettos. Also in Bloomington she has appeared as Vi in the independent student production of The Memory of Water. Her regional credits include Dark Ride with Box Theatre Group, Defying Gravity and Jacques Brel… at Brown Couch Theatre Company, Truck Stop Love at Bailiwick Theatre Company, and Man of La Mancha and The Odd Couple at Minnesota Repertory Theatre. She has trained at Improv Olympic and The Audition Studio in Chicago and at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. She is from Stilwell, Kansas.

Michael Roe (Sailor/ 1 st Officer) is a senior majoring in Theatre and Drama. This is Michael's debut appearance in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center. Michael is from Glenview, Illinois.

Jessica Rothert (Antonio) is a senior majoring in Theatre and Drama and English. She has appeared in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center as Abigail Williams in The Crucible, Honor in Honour, Lady Croom in Arcadia and Lady Montague in Romeo and Juliet. She has performed in numerous independent student productions on campus, playing Poncia in The House of Bernarda Alba, Claire in Why is John Lennon Wearing a Skirt?, and Yelena in Uncle Vanya. Last winter she appeared in Julie D at the John Waldron Arts Center. She is the recipient of the 2005 National Society of Arts and Letters Borkenstein Memorial Award, and the 2005 Nota Scholl McGreevey Theatre and Drama Scholarship. Jessica is from Covington, Kentucky.

Sarah Schlegel (Ensemble) is a freshman majoring in Theatre and Drama and English. Sarah last appeared in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center as Suzanna Walcott in The Crucible. Sarah is from Park Ridge, Illinois.

Steve Thomas (Fabian/Sailor) is a sophomore majoring in Theatre and Drama. He was last seen at IU as Silvius in an independent production of As You Like It. He is also a member of IU's Awkward Silence Comedy. Steve is from Deerfield, Illinois.

Claire Tuft (Curio) is a senior majoring in Theatre and Drama and English. At IU she has appeared on the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center stage as Susie Monahan in Wit. Claire assistant directed The Crucible in the Ruth N. Halls Theatre. She has also been seen as Martirio in House of Bernarda Alba, Sonya in Uncle Vanya, Juliet in Goodnight Desdemona, Good Morning Juliet (independent student production). Claire was a recipient of the Rosemary M. Schwartzel award. She is from Denver, Colorado.

Photo of Allison Moody, Eric Van Tielen  and Lilia VassilevaEric Van Tielen (Malvolio) is a third-year M.F.A. Acting student who received his B.F.A. from Utah State University. Eric performed the role of Bobby Strong in Urinetown, the Musical as his M.F.A. thesis role after performing in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center as Rev. Dimmesdale in The Scarlet Letter, Dr. Norbert Woodly in Happy Birthday, Wanda June, Van Helsing in Dracula, Marlow in She Stoops to Conquer and as Septimus Hodge in Arcadia. In the summer of 2006 he worked at the famed Utah Shakespearean Festival, where he has appeared as Ralph in H.M.S. Pinafore, and in summer 2005 as Envy in Howard Jensen's production of Dr. Faustus. Regionally, he has performed extensively at Pioneer Theatre Company, appearing in Evita, Cyrano de Bergerac, and Ragtime. He worked two seasons for Utah Festival Opera and three for the Old Lyric Repertory Company. In 2004 he was the first place winner of the Golden Key International Honour Society acting competition, and in 2005 he was the winner of the Bloomington National Society of Arts and Letters Drama competition, representing the area at the national contest in Hawaii. Eric hails from Salt Lake City, Utah.

Lilia Vassileva (Olivia) is a first-year M.F.A. student in Acting who received her B.A. from Valparaiso University. She was last seen in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center as Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible. Most recently, Lilia lived and worked in Chicago where she was an ensemble member with Imagination Theatre. Chicago credits include Vera in And Then There Were None (Attic Playhouse), Beatrix in Writing Your Own Tragedy (Pegasus Players) and Elsa in out/SPOKEN (About Face Youth Theatre). Lilia also played the role of Masha in The Seagull ( Moscow Art Theatre School ) in Boston, Massachusetts. Lilia is from Sofia, Bulgaria.

Photo of Henry WoroniczHenry Woronicz (Guest Director) is a nationally-recognized actor, director, and producer, and is presently a Visiting Associate Professor in the IU Department of Theatre and Drama. Mr. Woronicz was the Artistic Director of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival from 1991-1995. The Festival is one of the largest theatres in North America and produces 11 plays in repertory each year in three performance spaces in Ashland, Oregon. His directing credits at OSF include Hamlet, The Rehearsal, Pravda, The Glass Menagerie, Cymbeline, All's Well That Ends Well, La Bete, Other People's Money, The Second Man, Henry IV part two, Romeo and Juliet, Master Harold…and the Boys, and Sea Marks. He has also directed at the Utah Shakespearean Festival, the Alabama, Illinois, and Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festivals, the Boston Shakespeare Company, the Meadow Brook Theatre, and the Delaware Theatre Company.

Henry's Broadway acting credits include Trebonious in Julius Caesar at the Belasco Theatre, with Denzel Washington. His many acting credits include the title roles in Macbeth, Richard III, Hamlet, Henry VIII, Cyrano de Bergerac, and Peer Gynt , as well as the Duke in Measure for Measure, Leontes in The Winter's Tale, Antony in Antony and Cleopatra, Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew, and Malvolio in Twelfth Night. He has been a guest star on several television series, including, Law and Order, Ally McBeal, Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: TNG, Third Rock from the Sun, Frasier, Cheers, recurring roles on Seinfeld and Moesha, and was a featured actor in the films, Living Out Loud, Primary Colors, and Little Pieces.

Henry has recently worked at the Indiana Repertory Theatre, where he has played the roles of Simon in … The Young Lady from Rwanda, and Kent in King Lear. He is a member of Actor's Equity Association, Screen Actor's Guild, Society of Directors and Choreographers, and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. Henry currently resides in Bloomington with his wife, Fontaine Syer, an Associate Professor in the IU Department of Theatre and Drama.

Photo of Robert Mark MorganRobert Morgan (Scenic Designer) is a guest designer for this production of Twelfth Night. Robert received his M.F.A. in scenic design from San Diego University. He has designed many productions including the most recent credits, Ordinary Nation at the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, The Ice-Breaker at the Magic Theatre in San Francisco, A Christmas Story at the San Jose Repertory Theatre and the Studio Arena Theatre, Arms and the Man at the American Players Theatre, and Jesus Hates Me at the Denver Center Theatre Company. Robert has won numerous awards. His design for A Moon for the Misbegotten at ACT, San Francisco, was selected for display in the US Exhibit at the 2007 Prague Design Quadrennial. His design for Major Barbara at the San Jose Repertory Theatre won the Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Awards for Best Set Design of 2004. Robert is from San Francisco, California.

Katherine Garlick (Costume Designer) is a third-year M.F.A. student in Costume Design. She received her undergraduate degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center she has designed costumes for productions of The Crucible (her thesis); A Chorus Line; Arcadia; and Happy Birthday, Wanda June. She also designed the independent student productions of The Credeaux Canvas, Privilege, and The Memory of Water. In 2006 she designed costumes for the Brown County Playhouse production of The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (abridged). At Indiana University of Pennsylvania she designed costumes for The Laramie Project and Zastrozzi: The Master of Discipline , which earned her the first runner-up slot for the 2004 National Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) Barbizon Award for Excellence in Costume Design. Katherine is from Connellsville, Pennsylvania.

Photo of Jesse PortilloJesse Portillo (Lighting Designer) is a third-year M.F.A. student in Lighting Design, who received his B.F.A. from the University of Utah. Previous lighting design credits in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center include The Crucible, Our Country's Good, Wit, Bacchai, and assistant designer on The Cherry Orchard. In 2006 he served as the master electrician for the Brown County Playhouse. Other design credits in Bloomington include Frozen, Uncle Vanya and Privilege (Independent Student Projects) and Bicentennial Babies and Borderlands (Bloomington Playwrights Project). Favorite lighting design credits elsewhere include Hamlet and Julius Caesar at Salt Lake Shakespeare, The Tempest and Execution of Justice at the University of Utah, The Bartered Bride at Lyric Opera Ensemble and Kate Clinton at the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Utah. Assisting credits include Disney's Beauty & The Best, Peter Pan and Smokey Joe's Cafe at Pioneer Theatre Company, where he will co-design a production of Lost in Yonker's in March. Additionally he was Costume Designer for Cloud 9 at the University of Utah. Jesse is from Salt Lake City, Utah.

Andrew Hopson (Sound Designer) is an Assistant Professor of Sound Design in the Department of Theatre and Drama and Jacobs School of Music, appointed this year. He is also a professional sound designer and composer for stage, CD, and film. Andrew received his B.A. in history from Grinnell College, his M.M. in composition from Butler University and his Ph.D. in composition from the University of Minnesota. In theatre he has scored or designed shows at such theatres as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Utah Shakespearean Festival, Actors Theatre of Louisville, American Repertory Theatre, Milwaukee Rep, Cincinnati Playhouse, Victory Gardens, Harvard University and the Indiana Repertory Theatre, where he was resident sound designer for five years. In 2004 he had his New York debut with Trying, which was rated one of the best Off-Broadway shows of the year. As a musician, recording engineer, and producer, he has released over 30 CDs ranging from Baroque chamber works to books on tape. Recently, he composed music for the films Utah's Olympic Legacy, Hockey's Greatest Era 1942-1967, and The Birth of Legends.

Claire Diedrich (Stage Manager) is a junior majoring in Theatre and Drama and the Individual Major Program in Stage Management. In the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center Claire has stage managed She Stoops to Conquer and assistant stage managed Arcadia and The Scarlet Letter. She also stage managed The Woman in Black at the Brown County Playhouse. IN 2006 she was a stage management intern for the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, where she worked on As You Like It and My Fair Lady. Claire is from Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Ross Matsuda (Assistant Director) is a senior majoring in Theatre and Drama with a minor in Graphic Design. Lee Norvelle Theater and Drama Center credits include Gordon in Reel and the captain in Macbeth. He served as a pre-production intern for the Broadway musical Little Women and as assistant director for Shakespeare Santa Cruz's production of King Lear. His hometown is Evanston, Illinois.

Mollie L. Albert (Assistant Stage Manager) is a freshman majoring in Theatre and Drama, with a Studio Art minor. This is Mollie's debut production in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center. Mollie is from Toledo, Ohio.

Ashley Morelock (Assistant Stage Manager) is a junior majoring in Journalism. This is Ashley's debut production in the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center. Ashley is from Greenfield, Indiana.

Nancy Lipschultz (Voice and Speech Coach) is an associate professor in voice and has worked as an actress in New York, California, regionally in Michigan, Texas and in her hometown of Chicago. She has also worked overseas in London and is a veteran of six Fringe festivals in Edinburgh, Scotland. In addition to appearing on stage she has worked on several feature films, in numerous industrial films, many commercials, as well as, on network Television. She is a member of Screen Actors Guild, Actors' Equity Association and VASTA. Nancy holds an M.F.A. in Theatre from Wayne State University and has been a professor of Acting, Voice and Directing at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, Michigan State University, Ohio Wesleyan University and was most recently Head of Graduate and under graduate Voice for the Actor at Wayne State. Directing credits include: Evita, Much Ado About Nothing, Twilight Los Angeles , Fires in the Mirror and Jackie and the Beanstalk. She has been the vocal coach for many professional and university productions and recently coached the New York City Opera production of Dead Man Walking directed by Tony award winner Leonard Foglia.
