photo of William Angulo William Angulo (Burrs) is a junior B.F.A. in Musical Theatre student. At the Norvelle Center he appeared in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Protean), Seussical: the Musical (Low Wickersham Brother), the 2008 Faculty Dance Concert From Past to Present, and Premiere Musical’s The Day Boy and the Night Girl. William is a member of the IU Broadway Cabaret and is Varsity Choreographer of the Singing Hoosiers. He is a Hudson and Holland Scholar from Lake Zurich, Illinois.

Francesca Arostegui (Nadine) is a freshman majoring in Musical Theatre. Andrew Lippa’s The Wild Party is her Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center debut. She was an Elly Award winner for Best Actress in a musical and has performed with the California Music Circus, Sacramento Opera, and the Sacramento Ballet. Francesca comes from Sacramento, California.

Other roles include Tonya in Makin’ It, an Indiana University Groups Summer Theatre Production, Taylor McKessie in High School Musical for Music Theatre Louisville, and Ayana in The Prince and the Python at the Juneteenth Legacy Theatre. Charnette is from New Albany, Indiana.
photo of Alyson Bloom Alyson Bloom (Mae), recipient of the NSAL drama award, is a senior majoring in Musical Theatre. She previously appeared in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Tintabula), Metamorphoses (Myrrha), Seussical (Bird Girl), Nine (Heidi Von Sturm), and Urinetown (Little Becky Two-Shoes) at the Norvelle Center and in The Tempest (Miranda), part of IU’s African Tempest Project in South Africa. This summer Alyson appeared as Cindy in Suds at the Brown County Playhouse. She is from Deerfield, Illinois.

Previously at the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center he appeared as Senex in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Martin is from Oregon, Wisconsin.
photo of Andrew Craig Brewer Andrew Craig Brewer (Kegs) is a sophomore majoring in Musical Theatre. He is a transfer student from Indiana State University where he appeared as Groom in An Invitation to a Wedding Cake. He has also played Andrew in Godspell at the Maple Avenue Methodist Church and Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the St. George Orthodox Church. This is his Norvelle Center debut. Andrew is from Terre Haute, Indiana.

Matt is from Lonoke, Arkansas.

Other roles include Suds (Dee Dee) at the Brown County Playhouse and Godspell (Lauren) and Once on This Island (Ti Moune) at the Buskirk-Chumley. Lovlee, a member of the IU Broadway Cabaret, is from Hanover, Indiana.

She is a recipient of the Viewpoint School Departmental Music Award, The Mary Carpenter Award, and the National Bank of America Award. Favorite roles include Belle in the Beauty and the Beast, Kate in Kiss Me Kate, and Cinderella in Into the Woods. Stephanie has performed at numerous Los Angeles venues including the Hollywood Bowl. This is her Norvelle Center debut. Stephanie is from Calabasas, CA.

Previously, he appeared in An American Ma(u)l (Advisor) and Seussical: The Musical (Yertle the Turtle) at the Norvelle Center. Other credits include Anything Goes (Ling) and A Little Night Music (Ensemble) at the Wagon Wheel Theatre in Warsaw, Indiana. Lawrence also played Jesus/Stephen in Godspell at the Oakwood Inn Playhouse. Lawrence is from Austin, Texas.

He has also performed with IU’s Broadway Cabaret; College Light Opera Company: 42nd Street(Andy Lee) and Anything Goes (Featured Dancer); and at Shorter College: Cabaret (Dancer) and A Chorus Line (Paul). Jake is from Lithia Springs, Georgia.

Gina has worked and trained with the American Conservatory Theatre in her native San Francisco, California.

Previously Russell appeared in Premiere Musical’s The Day Boy and the Night Girl (Ensemble/Horse) and Seussical: The Musical (Seussemble) at the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center. He is a member of IU’s Broadway Cabaret and the recipient of an IU Foundation Scholarship. Russell is from Evansville, Indiana.

Other roles include Children of Eden (Father) at Ohio State University; Thoroughly Modern Millie (Millie), Honk! (Maureen), and Brigadoon (Maggie) at the Huron Playhouse; and Oklahoma(Laurey) and Grease (Patty) at the Croswell Opera House. Mandy is from Toledo, Ohio.
photo of Bradley A. Wantz Bradley A. Wantz (Oscar) is a senior majoring in Theatre and Drama and African-American & African Diaspora Studies. Previously Bradley was seen at the Norvelle Center in An American Ma(u)l (John Adams), Seussical: the Musical (Mr. Mayor), and The Crucible (Witness) and in Independent Projects On Stars Not Falling (Wings) and As You Like It (Le Beau/William/Hymen). He has also worked with the Bloomington Playwrights Project and University Players. A Lilly Endowment Scholar, Bradley is from New Castle, Indiana.
photo of Marc R. Winski Marc R. Winski (Max) is a junior majoring in Musical Theatre. At the Norvelle Center he has appeared in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Protean), Seussical: the Musical (Wickersham Brother), and Urinetown (Billy Boy Bill). Marc was a Lead Singer/Dancer for Rock n’ Country at Cedar Point and played Danny in Grease at the Tippecanoe Amphitheatre. A member of IU’s Broadway Cabaret, Singing Hoosiers, and Varsity Dance Ensemble, Marc is from Lafayette, Indiana.

PRODUCTION TEAM

George Pinney (Director) Nominated for a 2001 Tony Award and National Broadway Theatre Award in choreography, George received an Emmy Award for outstanding choreography for the PBS broadcast of Blast! George, Professor of Theatre and Drama and Head of the B.F.A. in Musical Theatre, has directed and/or choreographed over 150 musical theatre productions for national and international tours, regional and university. Recognized for his teaching, George was awarded the Friedrich Herman Lieber Award for Distinguished Teaching, five Board of Trustees Awards for Excellence in Teaching, and membership in the Faculty Colloquium of Excellence in Teaching. 

Terry LaBolt (Musical Director) is Musical Director of the Musical Theatre Program. He earned his B.M. in Piano Performance from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati where he was the Music Director of musical theatre for more than ten years, conducting and supervising over 30 productions. Terry’s career as a Broadway conductor flourished in the 1980’s when he conducted shows such as 42nd Street, Hello, Dolly! (with Carol Channing), George M (with Joel Grey), and Sugar Babies (with Ann Miller and Mickey Rooney). He is co-author of The Wonder Years – the Musical which enjoyed success Off-Broadway and in Los Angeles in the 1980’s. Endeavors at the keyboard include The Fantasticks (original Off-Broadway production) and tough touring shows such as The Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Aida, and most currently, Mamma Mia. He performed the area premiere of Keith Emerson’s Piano Concerto #1 with the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra in 2001.

Seamus M. Bourne (Scenic Designer) is a third-year M.F.A. student in Scenic Design. He received his B.A. from UNC Wilmington. Seamus was co-scenic designer for The Day Boy and the Night Girl and scenic designer for Side Man and An American Ma(u)l  at the Norvelle Center.  Other credits include Plaza Suite at Brown County Playhouse and Shadow of a Gunman and Boys’ Life at UNCW, for which he won the Southeastern Theatre Conference Undergraduate Design Award. Seamus is from Tenafly, New Jersey.

Erica Griese (Costume Designer) is a second-year M.F.A. student in Costume Design. She received her B.A. from Iowa State University. Previously for the Norvelle Center Erica designed costumes for Metamorphoses. This past summer she was Assistant Wardrobe Supervisor for Glimmerglass Opera. Other credits include Lunar Eclipse Complete (Modern Dance), Incorruptible, I Never Sang for My Father, and Fuddy Meers for ISU.  She has also worked for Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Great River Shakespeare Festival, and Wolf Trap Opera. Ericais from Wausau, Wisconsin.

Sean Michael Smallman (Lighting Designer) is a third-year M.F.A. student in Lighting Design with a B.F.A. from University of Arizona. At the Norvelle Center Sean designed lighting for The Day Boy and the Night Girl, An American Ma(u)l, Measure for Measure, Reel, and co-designed Big Love. This summer he was Lighting Designer for The Boys Next Door (Brown County Playhouse) and interned with the Stratford Festival in Ontario. He has also designed for numerous Arizona theatres, including Arizona Repertory Theatre. Sean is from Mesa, Arizona.

Andrew Hopson (Sound Designer) is Assistant Professor of Sound Design in the Department of Theatre and Drama. Andrew received his B.A. from Grinnell College, his M.M. from Butler University, and his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.He has designed shows at such theatres as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Utah Shakespearean Festival, Actors Theatre of Louisville, American Repertory Theatre, American Players Theatre, Metro Theatre of St. Louis, Milwaukee Rep, Cincinnati Playhouse, Victory Gardens, Harvard University, and the Indiana Repertory Theatre, where he was resident Sound Designer for five years. In 2004 he had his New York debut with Trying, which was rated one of the best Off-Broadway shows of the year. As a musician, recording engineer, and producer he has released over 30 CDs ranging from Baroque works to audio books. His film work includes Utah's Olympic Legacy, Hockey’s Greatest Era 1942-1967, and The Birth of Legends.

Alicia Bailey (Technical Director) is a third-year M.F.A. student in Scenic Technology who received her B.F.A. in Technical Theatre from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. For the Norvelle Center she has served as Technical Director for Side Man, An American Ma(u)l, and The Real Thing and Props Designer for Metamorphoses. She has previously served as the Technical Director for the Nebraska Repertory Theatre and Assistant Technical Director for the Brown County Playhouse. She is from Palisade, Nebraska.

Liza Luxenberg (Stage Manager) is a senior majoring in Theatre and the Individualized Major Program in Stage Management. At the Norvelle Center she was Stage Manager for The Seagull and Assistant Stage Manager for Urinetown and The Real Thing. During the summer of 2008 she interned at The Summer Play Festival at The Public Theater in New York. She Assistant Stage Managed the up and coming rock musical, The Black Suits, and the play Esther Demsack. Liza is from Winter Park, Florida.

Amy Levin (Assistant Costume Designer) is a senior majoring in Apparel Merchandising. The Wild Party is her debut at the Norvelle Center. She has studied abroad in London and worked for various fashion industry firms in Los Angeles and Chicago. Amy also has experience in trend reporting, event planning, and costume wardrobe. Her hometown is Long Grove, Illinois.

Britney Kuehm (Assistant Stage Manager) is a junior majoring in Telecommunications and Theatre and Drama. This is her debut at the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center. Last year she was the Assistant Stage Manager for Godspell at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater. Britney is from Cleveland, Ohio.
