photo of Shauna Burris Shauna Burris (Angel) is a junior majoring in Theatre and Drama and Telecommunications. She recently appeared with the IU Black Play Lab in Bulletproof Hearts (April). This is her Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center debut. Shauna is from Indianapolis, Indiana. 
photo of Aaron Collins Aaron Collins (Man with Ice Cream) is a junior majoring in Theatre and Drama. Previously, he appeared in the Norvelle Center productions of Dead Man Walking (Farley) and An American Ma(u)l (Ensemble). Other credits include the Bulletproof Hearts reading (Jake) for the IU Black Lab and Booty Candy (Ensemble) for Black Curtain. Aaron is from Danville, Indiana.
photo of Erin Ehlers Erin E. Ehlers (June), a Nota McGreevy Scholar, is a senior majoring in Theatre and Drama. Norvelle Center credits:  Dead Man Walking (Colleen/Governor), An American Ma(u)l (Marilyn), The Real Thing (Charlotte), and Nine (Sarraghina). At the Brown County Playhouse, Erin played Prudie Cupp in Pump Boys & Dinettes. Other credits include independent student projects Aria da Capo (Corydon), True West (Mom), and As You like It (Touchstone) and the Black Play Lab readings Bulletproof Hearts (Voice) and Preemptive (Vivian). She is from Lanesville, Indiana.
photo of Sarah Fischer Sarah Fischer (Woman with Furs) is a first-year M.F.A. acting student, and Marisol marks her Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center debut. Before coming to IU, Sarah received her B.A. in Theatre from George Washington University. Her Washington, DC credits include The Hundred Dresses (Maddie) for Imagination Stage and An Inspector Calls (Sheila) and If We are Women (Polly) for the Washington Stage Guild. Sarah is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio.
photo of Chelsea Gill Chelsea Gill (Ensemble) is a sophomore majoring in Theatre and Drama and English.  She is making her Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center debut in Marisol. Chelsea is from Jasper, Indiana.
photo of Patrick Hercamp Patrick Hercamp (Man with Scar Tissue) is a senior majoring in Theatre and Drama. This is his debut at the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center but he performed in Aria da Capo (Cothurnus) and The Three Sisters (Solyony) in independent student productions. Other acting credits include The Tempest (Ferdinand) at St. Mary’s and Therese Raquin (Laurent) at Aphra, both in England. Patrick has studied acting at the Kent School of Drama and the British Grotowski Project. Patrick is from Seymour, Indiana.

photo of Rebecca Masur Rebecca Masur (Ensemble) is a sophomore majoring in Theatre and Drama and English. This is her debut at the Norvelle Center.  She has been seen in And Then They Came For Me (Eva), A Christmas Carol (Belinda Cratchit and Fan), The Miracle Worker (Helen Keller), and The Herbal Bed (Elizabeth) at the Indiana Repertory Theatre. Other acting credits include work at Heartland Actor Repertory Theater, Loose Cannon Productions, and the Lilly Theater in the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. Rebecca is from Indianapolis, Indiana.
photo of Henry McDaniel Henry A. McDaniel III (Lenny) is a first-year M.F.A. student in Acting. He received his B.A. (Theatre & Mass Communication) and M.S.E. from Harding University. Earlier this season, he appeared in Dead Man Walking (Matt) for the Norvelle Center. Previous roles include Malvolio in Twelfth Night (University of Memphis), King of Siam in The King and I (Theatre Memphis), and Freddy in Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Theatre Memphis).  Henry’s hometown is Memphis, Tennessee.
photo of Jason Nelson Jason Nelson (Man with Golf Club) is a senior majoring in Theatre and Drama and English. His past work at the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center includes Dead Man Walking (Montoya/Gilardi), Metamorphoses (Phaeton/Hermes/others) and Big Love (Nikos). He has also appeared in Brooklyn Boy (Tyler) for Hillel, and the independent student project Corpus Christi (James the Less).  Jason is from Noblesville, Indiana.
photo of Kate Suffern Kate Suffern (Ensemble) is a sophomore majoring in Theatre and Drama and Classics. Last year at the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center she appeared in Metamorphoses (Alcyone). Other acting credits include Richard III (Young Duke of York) and Our Town (Emily understudy) at the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company. Last summer Kate studied at the British American Drama Academy’s Midsummer in Oxford Program, and she’s a Herman B Wells Scholar.  Kate is from Cincinnati, Ohio.
photo of Rebecca Swanney Rebecca Swanney (Ensemble) is a senior majoring in Theatre and Drama. She is making her debut at the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center. Rebecca is from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
photo of Dawn Thomas Dawn Thomas (Marisol) is a third-year M.F.A. acting student.  The role of Marisol is her thesis performance.  Dawn received her B.F.A. from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. At the Norvelle Center, she appeared in An American Ma(u)l (Georgina), Measure for Measure (Isabella) Side Man (Patsy), and The Birthday Party (Lulu). This past summer at the Brown County Playhouse, Dawn played Fiona Foster in How the Other Half Loves and Mrs. Fremus / Mrs. Warren / Clara in The Boys Next Door. Other credits include The Love of Don Perlimplin…, Much Ado About Nothing, Fanshen, The Bald Soprano, and Buried at UMBC. Dawn is from Fort Washington, Maryland.

 

PRODUCTION TEAM

Sabrina Lloyd (Director) is a second-year M.F.A. student in Directing who received her B.F.A. in Theatre Performance from Florida State University. Last year at the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center she was the Assistant Director for Measure for Measure and acted in various roles in Metamorphoses. She also directed, as an Independent Studies project, Some Explicit Polaroids and Aria Da Capo on the Library Lawn. Sabrina is the Founding Artistic Director of GroundUp Theatre in Chicago, Illinois.

Hyunsuk Shin (Scenic Designer) is a second-year M.F.A. student in Scenic Design with a B.A. from the University of Utah. Last season, she designed Metamorphoses for the Norvelle Center.  Other design credits: Three Sisters, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Dancing at Lughnasa, Clouds, Stags and Hens, and Tape at Utah; Beauty and the Beast, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Peter Pan at Pioneer Theatre; Zorro, Triumph of Love, and Pal Joey at Utah Shakespearean Festival. Hyunsuk is from Milyrang, South Korea.

Scott Anderson (Costume Designer), who received his B.A. in Theatre from DeSales University, is a third-year M.F.A. Costume Design student. Previously, he designed costumes for Norvelle Center productions of Dead Man Walking, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Real Thing, and Side Man and for independent productions of Aria da Capo and Three Sisters. At DeSales, Scott designed costumes for Heroic Hercules, and The World Goes ‘Round, and was Assistant Costume Designer for Aladdin. Scott’s hometown is Warrington, Pennsylvania.

Ryan J. Davies (Lighting Designer) returns to the Department of Theatre and Drama for the 2008/2009 academic year. After completing his M.F.A. in Lighting Design at IU in 2006 Ryan became the Lighting Supervisor for the Chicago Shakespeare Theater, winner of the 2008 Tony Award for the best regional US theatre company. CST credits: Funk It Up About Nothin (Jeff Recommended), Short Shakespeare! Romeo and Juliet, CPS Shakespeare! Hamlet, and CPS Shakespeare! Romeo and Juliet; CST Collaborations: The Comedy of Errors, Othello, Cymbeline, Passions, Troilus and Cressida, The Three Musketeers, and Two Noble Kinsmen. Other Chicago credits: The Misanthrope (Greasy Joan’s and Co., Jeff Recommended) and Fear of a Hood (Sansculottes Theatre Company). IU credits: A Chorus Line, Arcadia, Master Harold and the Boys, Bat Boy – The Musical, and Proof. Ryan also designed lighting for Same Time Next Year and Smoke on the Mountain (BCP), Patty Red Pants (Bloomington Playwrights’ Project), and Arcadia (John Waldron).

Chris Lee (Sound Designer) is a junior studying Theatre and Drama and Political Science. For the Norvelle Center he stage managed Dead Man Walking and assistant stage managed The Day Boy and the Night Girl and Measure for Measure. At Brown County Playhouse, Chris stage managed How the Other Half Loves and assistant stage managed The Boys Next Door. For IU independent productions, Chris stage managed Some Explicit Polaroids and directed The Pillowman and My Name is Rachel Corrie. Chris is from Indianapolis, Indiana.

Steven Workman (Technical Director) is a first-year M.F.A. student in Theatre Technology. He received his B.F.A in Theatre Design & Technology from the University of South Dakota. For the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center, he served as props master on The Wild Party. At USD he was Technical Director for The Rivals and The Laramie Project. Steven’s hometown is West Jordan, Utah.

Ryan Gohsman (Stage Manager) is a junior majoring in Theatre and Drama, English, and Arts Administration. Previously Ryan was Assistant Stage Manager for The Seagull at the Norvelle Center andfor Suds and How the Other Half Loves at the Brown County Playhouse last summer, where he stage managed The Boys Next Door. He appeared in Measure for Measure (Elbow) at the Norvelle Center and Mr. Marmalade (Bradley) for Impulse Productions. Ryan is from Plano, Texas.

Gabriel G. Gula (Assistant Stage Manager) is a junior majoring in Design and Technology in the Department of Theatre and Drama. Gabe served as sound designer for Dead Man Walking at the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center and will be designing sound for The America Play in the spring as well. Gabe is from Indianapolis, Indiana.

Adam Noble (Movement Consultant/Fight Choreographer) is Assistant Professor of Movement/Combat for the Department of Theatre and Drama. He is also a professional actor, with credits including Shakespeare in the Park, Lincoln Center Director’s Lab, Julliard, P.S. 122, Seattle Rep, Guild Hall, and On the Boards. Adam’s most recent solo show “QUEST/ions” played in Washington and New York. In addition to his role as a professor, Adam is a dancer, martial artist, traceur, and stuntman, with movement and combat credits in the worlds of film, theatre, and opera. Adam is a member of the Actors Equity Association, the Association of Theatre Movement Educators, and the Society of American Fight Directors. He has taught movement and combat in New York, California, Nebraska, Ohio, and Washington, and choreographed the violence for over 50 stage and film productions.

Nancy Lipschultz (Voice Coach), Associate Professor of Voice and Speech, has worked as an actress in New York, California, Michigan, Texas and Chicago, including the new play series at Chicago’s Victory Gardens  in High Holidays by Alan Gross, as well as overseas in London and is a veteran of six Fringe festivals in Edinburgh. She has worked on feature films, industrials, commercials, and, network television and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, Actors’ Equity, and VASTA. Nancy has been a professor of Acting, Voice and Directing at Cornell University, Ohio Wesleyan, and Wayne State University. Directing credits include: Evita, Much Ado About Nothing, Twilight Los Angeles, and Fires in the Mirror. She recently coached the New York City Opera production of Dead Man Walking, directed by Tony Award winner Leonard Foglia, and the National Tour of Kiss Me Kate. She is the voice for Lexus GPS systems for Inter Group Corporation, Tokyo.
