The role of the Donations Committee for Timmy Global Health at Indiana University is to collect the necessary medications for the chapter's annual medical brigade to Guatemala. We accomplish this through various soliciting events prior to our trip in March. The committee has been very busy this year, completing four storefront drives at Bloomington Kroger stores, as well as a Trick-or-Treat for Timmy donations drive. This year, we have narrowed our focus to vitamins, sunscreen, and body lotion. Vitamins can be rather expensive, and thus hard to come by. That didn't deter us from setting lofty goals for the year, aiming for 25,000 children's, 25,000 adult, and 10,000 prenatal vitamins. To this point, we have successfully surpassed each of the marks we hoped for. Our success has come from outstanding volunteering and commitment from committee members.
There will be two more storefront grocery drives this year coming in February. The dates and locations have yet to be decided, so be sure to check back for updates. If you have any questions, or would like to volunteer for future events, contact Marcin Kuzma(email@example.com ).
