Traditions & Cultures also helps freshmen develop the skills they'll need to succeed in other IU courses: reading and summarizing, thinking critically about information, harnessing evidence to support an assertion, understanding the research methods and reasoning used in different disciplines; learning terminology used in most universities; connecting ideas across units; moving from the particular to the general, and vice versa; studying from the www; and preparing for quizzes and exams.
