Z401 is a song-by-song look at the music, lives and times of the Beatles. The course focuses on the Beatles' music and aims to heighten student listening skills as well as foster a deeper appreciation of the Beatles' music. The music is supplemented by a multimedia companion that provides biographical information, video clips and a closer look at the Beatles' songwriting and recording process.

Professor Gass creates each screen in Adobe Photoshop and digitizes video and audio clips for the modules. The TLTC assists in putting the screens together and adding functionality in Adobe Director. Use of the modules enhances an already dynamic lecture class and helps students take notes and make connections with the material.
