Newsgroups Usenet News and Shared Mailboxes

	Usenet newsgroups are forums on a wide variety of topics. Reading newsgroups can be a good way for students to keep abreast of course-related topics. For reading newsgroups, UITS recommends Google Groups, which offers web-based archives of Usenet postings. While it is not possible to create a local (IU) newsgroup, UITS provides shared mailboxes on the Cyrus mail system. IU faculty and staff members are eligible to request shared mailboxes.
