Podcasting
A podcast is a collection of media files for distribution via the Internet, often by subscription, for playing on portable media players, desktop computers, and laptops. A sampling of possible uses of podcasts includes:
- Providing students access to course materials (e.g., tutorials, content reviews, introducing topics, preview of upcoming class sessions, course "radio shows,” class news, lecture excerpts, lab or project directions, audio or video tours)
- Providing students access to course materials from other sources (e.g., existing podcasts or other multimedia materials, foreign language or music files)
- Allowing students to create podcasts (e.g, interviews, research logs, and literature, movie or music reviews)
