Multimedia Music Theory Teaching Project MMTT

Format: Workstations

Instructional goals:

  • practice for mastery
  • multimedia presentation in and outside of class: text, image, sound files
  • annotation
  • student feedback: quizzes

This early project is slated for updating in the near future. Multimedia Music Theory Teaching Project (MMTT) provides tools for producing in-class presentations, lessons for individualized instruction, and student tests.

A comprehensive system for training in music theory, the MMTT Project version 3.0 of ET Drill was originally developed in the School of Music as a DOS application, and has subsequently been used by a number of other music schools as well. While retaining the basic framework of the earlier version, ET Drill 3.0 was redesigned to take advantage of the Windows environment. This collaborative effort involved the School of Music, the TLTC, and the Center for Innovative Computing Applications (CICA)

Recently the School of Music has been awarded a four-year grant from NFS/NEH and the MMTTt will be updated and expanded as part of the larger School of Music Library Variations project.
