I am slowly amassing a picture collection of concert halls,
auditoriums, and other performing venues, hoping primarily for shots
from the stage into the auditorium (i.e. the performer's view).
Stage pictures from the hall perspective (the audience's view)
are much easier to find, and I am also including some of these as the
specific halls are of meaning to me.
The idea, beyond enjoying the views
of these halls in their own right, is to create a sense of space, to
help cultivate a concept for playing to the room (or space). Some of
these pictures, enlarged, hang in my studio. I have played in all of
the pictured houses, and these views conjure up specific acoustical and
spatial memories for me.
This collection will
progress as further pictures are made or found.
