Joseph Alessi
|
Mr. Alessi will be visiting IU in December of 2003
for 2 weeks of masterclasses and 2 performances with the IU Wind Ensemble.
Mr. Alessi will give the World Premeire performances of a new concerto
by Eric Ewazen. This work was commissioned by IUITA, the MidWest Clinic
and the IU Department of Bands. More info coming soon! |
| Blair Bollinger
|
Blair Bollinger, Bass Trombonist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, visited IU in March of 2003. During his visit, Mr. Bollinger gave a very informative masterclass where he presented his thoughts on trombone technique as it applied to the students that he coached. The following evening Mr. Bollinger presented a solo recital with pianist Ashley Toms and the IU Trombone Faculty.

R. Douglas Wright

R. Douglas Wright, Principal Trombonistof the Minnesota Orchestra, visited IU in April of 2002. Mr. Wright presented a masterclass for the trombone students at IU and presented a very musical solo recital. People are still talking about the great performance of Berio's Sequenza that was heard that week.

Edward Kleinhammer

Edward Kleinhammer, former bass trombonist of the Chicago Symphony, visited IU in the Spring of 2001. He presented a very informative and entertaining masterclass for the trombone students and also taught several private lessons.

Henry Charles Smith

We were very fortunate to have Henry Charles Smith visit campus while in town to conduct the Camerata Orchestra. Mr. Smith presented a masterclass to the IU Trombone students in which he hear solo, excerpts and quartets
